Cutting risks, not forests
Geo-Intelligenz für Klima-, Natur- und Lieferkettenrisiken
From observation to risk to action
Environmental data alone does not reduce risk. VEO combines Earth observation, climate data, risk methods and domain expertise to translate environmental change into information that supports real-world decisions in the daily business.
Interdisciplinary expertise for complex environmental risks
Unsere Stärke liegt an den Schnittstellen. Our strength lies at the intersections. Rather than pushing a predefined technical solution, we start with the problem. We combine our core expertise with a trusted network of specialists, technologies and data providers to assemble what each challenge requires, from analysis and method development to implementation and decision support.
(Re)insurance & risk methods
Translating hazards, exposure and vulnerability into quantitative risk information, drawing on methods and experience from the (re)insurance sector.
Climate risk & agricultural systems
Understanding how climate variability, extremes and long-term change affect agricultural production, smallholder systems and commodity supply chains.
Earth observation & geoinformatics
Using satellite observations, geospatial analysis and spatial modelling to detect environmental change, characterize exposure and monitor landscapes and supply chains.
Forestry, nature & supply chains
Combining forestry and nature expertise with practical knowledge of commodity sourcing, traceability and environmental compliance.
Our team & network
VEO Partners brings together senior expertise in risk and (re)insurance, Earth observation, climate, agriculture, forestry and sustainable supply chains. Our core team combines complementary backgrounds from industry, science and international development. When a challenge requires additional expertise, we draw on a trusted network of specialist companies, researchers, technology providers and domain experts. This flexible model allows us to build the right team around each assignment - combining the people, methods, data and technologies needed to move from complex environmental challenges to practical solutions.

The right expertise for the challenge
VEO works with a growing network of specialist companies, research institutions and independent experts. Rather than relying on a fixed technology stack or predefined solution, we select and combine expertise, data sources and technologies according to the needs of each assignment.
What we do
From risk questions to practical solutions
We support companies and organizations in understanding environmental risks, navigating regulatory requirements and strengthening the resilience and sustainability of their supply chains. Our services range from focused advisory assignments and scoping workshops to longer-term implementation support.
Risk & insurance advisory
We provide specialist advice on climate, nature and environmental risk, drawing on experience from the (re)insurance sector, Earth observation and quantitative risk assessment. We support both focused technical questions and the development of broader risk approaches.
Resilience supply-chains
We help organizations design practical approaches to traceability, geolocation, environmental verification and risk assessment across complex commodity supply chains — connecting supplier information with geospatial and Earth observation data where useful.
Agro & forest systems
We support companies and development organizations in understanding climate and environmental risks within agricultural supply chains and identifying practical pathways towards greater resilience and sustainability, with particular expertise in smallholder-based commodity systems.
Research to Business: ForInS
ForInS explores how multiple hazards affecting forests interact and cascade — from climate extremes and wildfire to pests, ecosystem degradation and other pressures.
VEO leads the technical implementation, developing approaches to combine hazard information, Earth observation and risk indicators into an integrated framework for assessing compound and cascading forest risks.
The project provides a testing ground for methods that can ultimately support better risk assessment, monitoring and decision-making for forests and the organizations that depend on them.
